IV Hydration Therapy in Hoover, AL

Arm injection by healthcare worker

Lifetime Primary Care now offers IV hydration therapy at our Greystone office in Hoover, Alabama. This is a new addition to the services we already provide, and it’s built for patients who want a faster, clinically supervised way to rehydrate, replenish nutrients, or support recovery.

IV hydration delivers fluids, electrolytes, and select vitamins directly into the bloodstream through a small plastic cathether in the arm. Because this bypasses the digestive system, the body can absorb what it needs more quickly than it would from drinking water or taking oral supplements alone. Each session at our office takes about 30 to 45 minutes.

Why IV Hydration in a Primary Care Office

Most IV hydration services operate as standalone drip bars or mobile services. Receiving IV hydration inside a primary care practice is a different experience. Your provider already knows your medical history, current medications, and health goals. This means the session is informed by clinical context, not a menu selection. If you’re managing a chronic condition, taking prescription medications, or working through a weight management plan, your provider can factor all of this into the formulation they recommend.

Dehydration is also more common than many patients realize. A 2020 study published in Nutrients analyzed nationally representative data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and found that over 65% of U.S. adults aged 51 to 70 did not meet clinical hydration criteria. The same study linked chronic underhydration to a higher prevalence of obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension, and metabolic syndrome. Even mild, ongoing dehydration can contribute to fatigue, headaches, and difficulty concentrating.

How Does IV Hydration Work?

IV hydration formulations typically include a combination of fluids, electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals selected based on the patient’s goals. The specific ingredients in your IV are determined during your provider consultation, but here’s a look at why certain nutrients show up in these formulations and what the research says about them.

B vitamins act as cofactors in the body’s energy metabolism. A 2023 randomized double-blind trial published in the International Journal of Medical Sciences found that B-complex supplementation improved exercise performance and reduced physical fatigue over a 28-day period. For patients dealing with ongoing tiredness or physically demanding routines, B vitamins are one of the most well-studied nutrients for energy support.

Vitamin C plays a direct role in collagen production. A 2022 review in Antioxidants found that adequate vitamin C levels support collagen synthesis in the skin and may help reduce visible signs of aging. Vitamin C is also one of the most researched nutrients for immune function, which is why it appears across multiple types of IV formulations.

Biotin has shown promise for hair and nail health, particularly in patients with brittle nails or thinning hair. A 2017 review in Skin Appendage Disorders found that in all 18 reported cases of biotin supplementation, patients showed clinical improvement. The strongest evidence applies to patients with an underlying deficiency, which is one more reason a provider consultation matters before choosing a formulation.

Minerals like magnesium and zinc round out many IV options. Magnesium has clinical evidence supporting its use in migraine management, and zinc is well-studied for its role in immune response.

A 2025 review published in Cureus explained that IV administration can provide higher bioavailability than oral supplementation, especially in situations where digestion, absorption, or certain medications limit nutrient uptake.

What We Offer

We currently offer nine IV hydration drips and a selection of add-on injections, each designed around a different goal. Your provider will help determine which option fits your needs during a brief consultation before the session.

Add-Ons

You can also add a push or injection to any IV session for targeted support. Options include glutathione for detox and skin clarity, vitamin B12 for energy and metabolism, vitamin D3 for immune function and mood, and CoQ10 for cellular energy. These can also be administered as standalone treatments.

IV therapy services are offered on a private-pay basis and are not billed to insurance. Specific ingredients and formulations are discussed during your provider consultation, because what goes into your IV should be based on your health picture, not a one-size-fits-all formula.

What to Expect During Your Session

When you arrive, your provider will review your health history and current concerns. Based on this evaluation, they’ll recommend an IV formulation that fits your situation. Once the IV is placed (a small plastic catheter in the arm), you can sit comfortably while the fluids are administered. Most sessions wrap up within 30 to 45 minutes.

Because this takes place in a clinical setting, your provider can answer questions about how IV hydration fits with other aspects of your care. If you’re managing a chronic condition, recovering from an illness, or exploring options through telehealth, your provider can connect the dots across your health plan.

Limited-Time New Patient Offer

To celebrate the launch of this new service, Lifetime Primary Care is offering a promotion for new IV Hydration patients: $99 Energy or Weight Loss IV Therapy Session (for a limited time, while supplies last). Whether you’re interested in recovery support, energy, skin and hair health, or basic rehydration, this is a good opportunity to try it with a provider who knows your health history.
